In 1982, Innovative Metal Designs (IMD) was founded by Carlos Danze, a visionary from Montevideo, Uruguay. Chasing the American Dream, Carlos moved to California with determination in his heart and just one machine in his garage. While working toward U.S. citizenship and reuniting his family, he attended trade school and began designing from that very garage.

From humble beginnings, Carlos went on to design the tops of Coca-Cola cans, create specialized components for Hollywood films and celebrities, and eventually contribute parts to the aerospace industry. What started as a dream turned into a legacy of innovation and craftsmanship.
